Project Description
Peppers Clear Mountain
Mandala Hotels & Resorts engaged Dezign to lead the transformation of the former Mercure Clear Mountain into Peppers Clear Mountain, the first five-star hotel in the City of Moreton Bay. Set across 20 hectares of bushland overlooking the Glass House Mountains, the 51-room property caters to leisure stays, weddings and corporate events.
Dezign led the project from the initial discovery phase through interior design and construction, delivering the overall repositioning across the guestrooms, restaurant and bar, arrival spaces and outdoor areas.
The design draws on Clear Mountain’s natural setting while establishing a consistent character throughout the property. All 51 guestrooms were refurbished, introducing updated interiors and finishes aligned with the Peppers brand while retaining the property’s connection to its hinterland location.
The Glasshouse restaurant and bar was reworked around a statement fireplace, with banquette seating, lounge areas and two private dining rooms. The renewed interior provides a more defined dining experience for hotel guests, local visitors and private events.
The refurbishment also extended to the hotel’s arrival and outdoor areas. An updated porte-cochère, reception and foyer create a stronger sense of arrival, while improvements to the pool deck, landscaping and connections between key areas bring greater cohesion to the wider property.
With the hotel remaining operational throughout the refurbishment, works were carefully staged to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations. Dezign’s involvement from discovery through to construction supported a coordinated delivery process and a consistent design response across the property.
The completed refurbishment brings together accommodation, dining, events and leisure within a cohesive resort experience, repositioning the property under the Peppers brand.
