Project Description

Nolan Reserve Amenities

Dezign was pleased to work with Northern Beaches Council on another successful project at Nolan Reserve North Manly.

The $ 3M new multipurpose building is now complete.

Local sports enthusiasts – including soccer, cricket and rugby players and their supporters – will be among those to benefit from the new amenities building in Nolan Reserve, North Manly.

The new multi-purpose amenities facility replaced outdated existing facilities with a new single-storey building.

Council identified the need for a new building to accommodate improved facilities, accessibility and storage capacity to provide a standard of service consistent with community expectations.

The existing middle and south amenities buildings adjacent the bitumen court were demolished, replacing them with the new multi-user sports amenity building.

The purpose-designed building is complete with changing rooms, a canteen; male, female and accessible public amenities and new spectator seating areas. The building also features improved accessibility to help ensure that everyone can enjoy the new facility.

The building has been built off the ground to prevent issues with flooding from the nearby waterways and is constructed of concrete, structural steel and is enveloped by masonry and metalwork. The roof structure brings a distinct character to the building, and provides a practical function to achieve the required spans and cantilevers. The amenity’s architectural design is the centrepiece to the sports precinct.

The Nolan Reserve Amenities renewal is one of several upgrades of community facilities undertaken by Northern Beaches Council.
